The Plano ISD Board of Trustees unanimously called for a bond election in August. As a result, there will be 4 bonds and a VATRE (Voter Approval Tax Rate Election) on the ballot in the November 8th election. The Plano ISD Council of PTAs will move to support the Bonds and VATRE in their entirety. However, because of the structure of the PTA, for the Council to make a motion and vote on this support, each local PTA's general membership must vote independently on this motion and provide the results of their vote at a Delegate meeting.
In response to this, Brinker PTA will be conducting a special meeting via Zoom on Tuesday, Oct 18th at noon. We will make a motion to support the 2022 VATRE (Voter Approval Tax Rate Election) and Bond Propositions of Plano for PISD in its entirety that will be on the November 8, 2022 general election ballot. All parents can attend, however only PTA members will be permitted to vote.
Click HERE to register to attend the Brinker PTA Special Meeting. You must register to attend.
During our Meeting, we will have a brief Q&A with a member of the Plano ISD Council of PTAs. For all those that register to attend this Special Meeting, Zoom log in information will be provided, as well as a link to a form to submit questions ahead of the meeting.

You are encouraged to attend one of the many information sessions being held by PISD across the district. Parents are asked to attend an information session in their feeder pattern. Please see the dates, times and locations for our feeder pattern sessions below. If you can not attend one of these sessions, further information on the VOTRE and Bond proposal, as well as dates and locations of information all sessions, can be found HERE
Tuesday Tunes encourages our young Brinker musicians to share their talent and love for music with classmates, teachers, and staff in an informal setting. We are excited to bring back Tuesday Tunes for another great year of performances by our talented musical Bears!
To qualify to participate in Tuesday Tunes, your student must have formal musical training, preferably 2 years. Each student can perform once in the school year. All instruments are welcome!

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to our September Volunteers of the Month, Megan Martinez and Melissa Pierce, our incredible Spirit Wear Chairs!! A huge thank you goes out for all of their hard work and devotion to making sure our Brinker Bears had amazing Spirit Wear options for the 2022-2023 school year. Their effort has not gone unnoticed!
Megan is originally from Dallas and has called Plano home for the past 5 years. She and her husband Scott have two girls, both currently attending Brinker, Olivia a 4th grader, and Ella a 2nd grader. They have really enjoyed being a part of the Brinker community since Kinder!
Megan attended Texas A&M (class of ’99, whoop!) and has since spent her career in the Telecom industry. She’s currently the Business Manager for the Software Business Unit at Fujitsu Network Communications in Richardson. When not working or in school, the Martinez’ love traveling (they are trying to see all 50 states!), keeping up with the girls' sports and activities, and Megan enjoys reading and sewing when she gets tiny pockets of time to herself.
Melissa has lived in Plano and attended Plano schools since middle school. After graduation, she attended the University of North Texas where she received her BFA in Visual Art Studies. She has been an art teacher in Plano for the past 16 years and has been at Shepton High School for the past 12 years. Her husband, Preston Pierce, is a band director at Plano West Senior High School and they have two daughters that attend Brinker, Madeline and Norah. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her friends and family, including travelling as much as possible during their summers off!
