REMINDER: PTA Fall Family Picnic has been RESCHEDULED to April 13, 2018

International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October. Today, thousands of schools across America  participate every October.

Be sure to mark your calendars for October 4 and participate in the fun.

Come join us for our Community Partners Dining Night Out at Newk's on Thursday, October 5 from 4:00 - 9:00 pm.  Grab a late lunch, snack or dinner and give back to Brinker.  Please let your cashier know that you are there for Brinker Dining Out Spirit Night, and they will donate 15% of the proceeds back to Brinker. To view the flyer, please click HERE.

The first-ever National Box Tops for Education Week is September 24th – September 30th, so join us in the celebration and earn cash for our school. Each Box Top you clip and submit is worth 10 cents, and they add up fast!

It's easy to participate! During that week just bring all your box tops from home and drop them in the collection box right outside the gym.

If each Brinker child were to simply clip 10 box tops, it would generate nearly $700 for our school. Imagine the possibilities! Thanks for your support!

Our VIP Program is an awesome, fun way for parents, grandparents or community members, to volunteer and help our Brinker students directly. You commit half an hour a week to assist a student who needs a little extra support in math and/or reading, as well as boosting the student’s confidence in their academics. If you choose to sign up to volunteer, you will submit your available days and times you can be at Brinker to tutor during school hours. You will be paired with a student or may also select whether you prefer to work with the younger or older grades and if you prefer to tutor in reading or math.

You do not need to be a teacher or a former teacher to be able to tutor. The students’ teachers will provide you with the assignments and information for each tutoring session.  If interested, please e-mail viptutors@brinkerpta.org. There is a great need for tutors, especially during the second semester.

Good Morning!  We are excited to let you know that the fall library volunteer schedule is now ready for you to sign up to volunteer. Volunteer timeslots cover 1-2 classes, and you would be helping to check-in/check-out and shelve books. It’s a great way to see your child at school!

Library Training will take place on Thursday, September 28 at 8:00 am in the library.

You can sign up on by clicking HERE (log on required) to find the 2017-2018 Library Volunteer form. For any questions, please e-mail library@brinkerpta.org.

One of the easy and flexible ways to volunteer at Brinker is in our Teacher Workroom. Every week, our teachers could use extra hands to help behind the scenes, preparing assignments and projects for their classes. Brinker volunteers can help by taking some of these additional tasks off of our teachers. The Teacher

Workroom is currently in need of more volunteers to keep up with the requests.  We need at least 4-5 volunteers each week to help our teachers with this work.

To volunteer for the Workroom, please click HERE (log in required) or email workroom@brinkerpta.org.

2017-2018 B.E.A.R.S Campaign

Do you know what the Brinker PTA’s B.E.A.R.S. Campaign is? Do you want a 2017-2018 Brinker yard sign to show your school spirit?   If you want a yard sign, you must donate before October 13th.

B.E.A.R.S (Benefactors for Educators, Academic Resources and Students) is Brinker PTA’s primary fundraiser which provides our students and teachers with activities, programs, and resources to enrich their school year. B.E.A.R.S. means no stressful door to door selling of cookies, candles, and popcorn. No donation is too small.  Donations can be made in any amount.

With a donation of $100 or more, your family will receive a Brinker Yard Sign.  A donation of $250 or more, you will receive a yard sign and 5 books will be donated to the Brinker Library in your family's name.

Please click HERE to make your donation.  Don't forget to check with your company's HR department to see if they offer corporate matching. We will be happy to help provide any needed school information.

B.E.A.R.S. is a simple way for you to support our students and teachers.

Please contact Anita Dewers with questions at waysandmeans@brinkerpta.org.

Each Tuesday morning, a Brinker student performs their musical instrument in the lobby as students enter the school.  Following their performance, the student will be introduced and recognized on the "Good Morning Brinker" broadcastAny Brinker student who has had two years of formal musical training is invited to perform.  Each student can perform once a year; however, if your student wants to courageously start the season for us this September, you will receive a bonus second performance later in the year.

Please click HERE to sign up (requires login ID and password).  For more information, email tuesdaytunes@brinkerpta.org.
