Important Information and Upcoming Events

Tuesday Tunes is a Brinker PTA program that allows students who have taken formal music lessons to perform in a relaxed environment here at Brinker starting Tuesday, September 4.  Each Tuesday morning, a Brinker student performs their musical instrument in the lobby as students enter the school.  Following their performance, the student will be introduced and recognized on the "Good Morning Brinker" broadcast.  Any Brinker student who has had two years of formal musical training is invited to perform.  Each student can perform once a year; however, if your student wants to courageously start the season for us this September, you will receive a bonus second performance later in the year.  Please click here to sign up.  For more information, please email us at

We're looking for a few good men! All fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles, and other father figures are invited to volunteer through the WatchDOGS program.  Online sign-up begins on Sunday, September 9 at 8 am.  For more information, please visit our WATCH D.O.G.S. page or email

We are joining the City of Plano's 5th Annual Peanut Butter Drive.  Together with the North Texas Food Bank, we are helping feed hungry children and families in Plano and Collin County.  Please bring a regular sized plastic jar of peanut butter or similar spreads (almond butter or sunflower butter) anytime from now until Monday, September 24.  A blue bin is set up in the gym foyer to collect the donations.  Thank you for your participation.  Please contact Kim Sams or Jessica Bailey for any questions at

The Brinker PTA has many events and activities throughout the school year where volunteers are needed.  If you are looking for a great way to get involved, complete a volunteer interest form.  Completing this form does not commit you to volunteering; it only adds you to the contact list to receive more detailed information.  To help out directly in your child's classroom, please consider volunteering for homeroom or lead homeroom representative.  We need strong volunteers to help put together the classroom parties and other class specific events.  For additional information, please contact the Grade Level Coordinator at or the VP of Volunteers at

Have you completed a PISD Volunteer Application for the 2018-19 school year? PISD requires all volunteers to complete a new application EVERY school year, and security checks are strictly enforced to ensure the safety of our students and staff.  We encourage ALL parents to complete and submit an application, whether you are one of our volunteers or just planning to attend a classroom party.  For additional information, please contact our VP of Volunteers at

Our V.I.P. Program is an awesome, fun way for parents, grandparents, or community members to volunteer and help our Brinker students directly.  You would commit half an hour a week to assist a student who needs a little extra help in math and/or reading, boosting the student’s confidence in his/her academics.  You do not need to be a teacher or a former teacher.  The student’s teacher will provide you with the assignments and information for each tutoring session.  If interested, please e-mail
