Important Information and Upcoming Events

Thank you to all those who attended yesterday's PTA General Meeting!  Serving on our Nominating Committee, who will propose a slate of PTA Officers for the 2019-2020 school year, are Amy Walker (chair), Kim Sams, Jenifer Johnson, Pattie Pearson, Kara Gerbosi (alternates: Jennifer Blice and Amy Matz).  Thank you ladies for stepping up and serving the PTA!!

Box Tops are each worth 10¢ for our school.  The next deadline is February 22!  Here is how Box Tops work:
        • BUY products you use every day.
        • CLIP the Box Tops.
        • SEND Box tops to school.
        • EARN cash for our school.
If each Brinker child were to simply clip 10 Box Tops, it would generate over $700 for our school.  Imagine the possibilities and happy clipping! Thanks for your support! Questions?  Contact

Brinker's Annual Field Day will be held on Friday, March 8, with K-G2's activities from 8 - 11 am and G3-5's activities from 11 am - 2 pm.  Students will be outside, so please dress your child in weather-appropriate clothing and apply sunscreen/bug spray before school.  Stay tuned for more details!  This is one of the kids' favorite events of the year.  We need volunteers, so please click here to sign up.

Our 4th Annual Brinker Color Fun Run is on March 29 from 5 - 6 pm in the Brinker parking lot.  It's an untimed run where Brinker students are dusted in different colors at stations around the lap course.  The event is all about students running, walking, or even skipping while family members and the Brinker community cheer them on!  Click here to register, and click here to sign up.

Also, plan on dining out at Mooyah Burger or Campisi’s with your family and friends after the Color Fun Run and support the Brinker PTA.  Stay tuned for more details.  We hope you and your family can join us for this fun family event.  Questions? Email

Once again, there is a ton of stuff in the Lost & Found.  Some of the things include jackets, gloves, hats, lunchboxes, water bottles, and more.  Please check your closets and make sure all of your child's winter gear is there.  If not, please have your child check the Lost & Found by the cafeteria.  There are so many items, and if they are not claimed soon, we will be donating another large bulk to charity.

Do you have a 2019 graduating senior who attended Brinker? Or maybe you know someone who does? Each year, the Brinker PTA offers a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating PISD senior who attended Brinker Elementary for at least Grades 3 through 5. Click here to access the scholarship requirements and application on the PTA website.  Applications must be postmarked no later than March 29, 2019.  Send questions to

We need more volunteers for the Kindergarten Reading Buddies program.  It's every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10:20 - 11:30 am in Kindergarten classrooms.  Please consider signing up by clicking here, if you're available.  You will help kindergarten children with reading material given by their teachers.

The Brinker PTA has many events and activities throughout the school year where volunteers are needed.  If you are looking for a great way to get involved, complete a volunteer interest form.  Completing this form does not commit you to volunteering; it only adds you to the contact list to receive more detailed information.  To help out directly in your child's classroom, please consider volunteering for homeroom or lead homeroom representative.  We need strong volunteers to help put together the classroom parties and other class specific events.  For additional information, please contact the Grade Level Coordinator at or the VP of Volunteers at

Have you completed a PISD Volunteer Application for the 2018-19 school year? PISD requires all volunteers to complete a new application EVERY school year, and security checks are strictly enforced to ensure the safety of our students and staff.  We encourage ALL parents to complete and submit an application, whether you are one of our volunteers or just planning to attend a classroom party.  For additional information, please contact our VP of Volunteers at

Our V.I.P. Program is an awesome, fun way for parents, grandparents, or community members to volunteer and help our Brinker students directly.  You would commit half an hour a week to assist a student who needs a little extra help in math and/or reading, boosting the student’s confidence in his/her academics.  You do not need to be a teacher or a former teacher.  The student’s teacher will provide you with the assignments and information for each tutoring session.  If interested, please e-mail
