She also has the sweetest Pomeranian dog that is outside the walker door with her every day when she picks up her kids! In her spare time, Carolyn enjoys reading and her book club, cooking healthy foods and entertaining. She enjoys watching her girls play softball and soccer and loves to see all the cute little faces when she volunteers at Brinker! | | WINNERS, WINNERS, EVERYWHERE What two states border Lake Champlain? Fremantle, Australia lies along what ocean? Is this the correct spelling for hyphen? How about hooligan? Our annual Spelling and Geography Bees were filled with excitement and competition. Round after round, amazing students competed for the title of champion. In the end there was only one student left standing in both contests. Congratulations to Rehan Buvvaji of 5th Grade, our Spelling Bee and Geography Bee winner. Well done! |

 | | HIGH TOUCH HIGH TECH VISITS 5th GRADE High Touch High Tech scientists visited the 5th graders on Tuesday, February 19. They journeyed into the Galapagos and differentiated between inherited traits versus learned behaviors of plants and animals in their specific environments. They participated in experiments that simulated an underwater volcano and created species that would have evolved through adaptation and natural selection. Thank you for your support of the PTA, so we can continue to bring exciting STEM programs to our students! |

 | | JUMP ROPE ASSEMBLY We kicked of our jump rope unit in PE with an amazing show performed by the Jump Master, Peter Nestler. Peter has been jump roping competitively for over 30 years and is a multi-Guniess Book of World Records holder and performs jump rope shows all over the world. We were so excited to have him here to teach the kids what you can achieve with hard work and determination. He even invited a few of our Brinker Bears up on stage to perform some tricks with him. A big THANKS to Mrs. Nestler for sharing his talent with us, and to our Brinker PTA for bringing his show to our school. If you want to check out some of Peter’s videos on how to perform some of the tricks he demonstrated, you can visit his youtube channel “Jump Rope Secrets†or visit any of his websites. https://www.jumprm.com https://www.jumpropesecrets.com |
