We are so excited to launch our Reading Olympics fundraiser and read-a-thon, starting FRIDAY, November 12th and runs through the 26th! This reading and fundraising program will work very similarly to last year's read-a-thon. While our main goal will be to foster a love of reading by encouraging our students to read as many minutes as they can during the program, our secondary goal is to also raise money to further support our amazing Brinker programs like field trips, assemblies, STEM programs, author visits and so much more. Below you will find an overview of the program, how to register and how kids can earn prizes and raise money for our school!

Step 1: Create a Brinker Reading Olympics account 

Visit www.pledgestar.com/Brinker to register. Once you are registered, you can add your readers (aka students) and select their teacher/grade

Step 2: Send Out Pledge Requests

You can have your friends and family support your reader on their Reading Olympics journey by making a flat pledge of $10 or more. In your account just go to the pledge request section. You can upload a picture of your reader to personalize the message. Then add as many friends and family as you want. Procuring pledge requests is not required to participate in the Reading Olympics, but it is just another way to support our school and the many enrichment programs we provide!

Step 3: Log Your Reading Minutes: 

In your Pledgestar account, under your list of readers, you will find a reading log for each participant. Log in and track your reader’s minutes each day between the dates of November 12th-26th. 

Step 4: Collect Prizes for your reading accomplishments!

Blue Level- Students who, at a minimum, create an account and log any reading minutes will receive a blue Reading Olympics bracelet 

White Level- Students who log at least 100 minutes by the end of the first week on 11/19 will receive a white Reading Olympics Bracelet 

Red Level- Students who log at least 250 minutes by the end of the read-a-thon on 11/26 will receive a red Reading Olympics bracelet

The goal is to earn all three so you have a RED, WHITE and BLUE set!

At the end of the Reading Olympics, we will be rewarding metals to the top readers in each grade, and a Bronze, Silver and Gold award for the grades that have read the most minutes.

Bronze Grade Winner- Extra Recess
Silver Winner- Extra Recess with popsicles
Gold Winner- Extra Recess, lunch outside picnic style and popsicles

Please note, we are running this program through the Thanksgiving break to encourage kids to keep up with their reading during the holiday, and will be announcing the winning readers the week of November 29th. Students can also track their and their grades progress by logging into your pledge start account at any time.
