As I prepare to start my second year at the Brinker PTA President, I feel so blessed to have served this current school year with an amazing PTA Board and Chairs. They make everything we do at Brinker (events, programs, fundraising, volunteer coordinating, etc.) go so smoothly, and it makes my role as President “do-able.”
In April and May, I will be looking for volunteers to help fill many of our PTA roles for 2016-17. Those who serve in “Chairperson roles” are made up of volunteers who work full time, part time, have little ones still at home or in preschool, volunteer at other organizations, and manage their homes and families. Some of the Chairperson roles can be accomplished from your home, some involve some time at Brinker and some are a combination of both. We can find a role that fits your life and you will also receive the benefits of meeting new friends and learning more about Brinker. The time you volunteer in these key roles will give so much to our Brinker students, staff and community…priceless! Please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com to learn more about our Brinker PTA Board and Chair roles. I’d love to chat with you!
Finally, I cannot “thank” enough our Healthy Lifestyles Chair, Tana Kaiser, for her countless hours planning and executing the Brinker Color Fun Run on March 18. Her creativity, enthusiasm and hard-work made this inaugural event a huge success. A giant shout-out to the Brinker Staff and Parent Volunteers at the Color Fun Run for braving the cold to help it run efficiently. Thanks also to the many volunteers behind the scenes who counted, sorted, stapled and organized all the pre- and post- fun run paperwork. Whew, all those Brinker students and pledges have kept us busy. I appreciate you all!

The teachers, staff, and students appreciate all you do for the school.
COLOR RUN FUN - SPECIAL THANKS TO PARENTS & STAFF
Thank you Brinker parents - you are truly amazing! And thank you Brinker staff for sprinkling our kids with color and providing encouragement during their run! We had approximately 400 students participate in the Color Run on Friday, March 18. If it weren’t for the support you gave your children to attend and participate in the Color Run and the Technology Fundraiser, it would not have had been such a great success. Students are now working hard now to collect donations and pledges from their sponsors which are all due by Friday, April 1. We will make a special announcement soon afterwards with information on total money raised for technology at Brinker along with other fun facts about the Color Run. Additionally, our Brinker Bears and Community learned how important and fun it is to maintain a Healthy Lifestyle too!

WORKROOM HELP NEEDED
If you can count to 28, use a paper cutter, tear out pages from a workbook and staple, then the Brinker Workroom needs you! We need at least 4-5 volunteers each week to help our teachers with behind the scenes work. This time will be spent on work assignments and projects for all grade levels, including PACE and Special Education.
All instructions and supplies are provided. The Brinker Workroom is located inside the library and is available each week, Tuesday through Friday (7:30am-2:45pm). To volunteer, go to the Orders/Volunteering tab on the PTAMembership Toolkitand look for the Teacher Workroom volunteer form.
This is a great opportunity to see what our children are learning and give a helping hand to our wonderful teachers! If you have any questions, please contact Ritu Narayan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
LIBRARY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We have lots of openings for the spring library volunteer schedule. Volunteer timeslots cover 1-2 classes, and you would be helping to check-in/check-out and shelve books. It’s a great way to see your child at school! A few of our time slots are completely full, but others have some days with no volunteers at all. Click here to see the teacher library times for all grades.
You can sign up on Toolkit – just look for the 2015-2016 Library Volunteer form. For any questions, please e-mail Heather Burchett at email@example.com.
