RECAP OF DECEMBER EVENTS
RED APPLE DAY: Approximately 750 red apples were delivered to Brinker on Tuesday, December 1 for National Eat a Red Apple Day. The students enjoyed grabbing an apple on their way to their classroom in the morning. The apples were so delicious and nutritious! The PTA is happy to support Brinker students in learning how to make healthy choices for themselves.
CANNED FOOD DRIVE SUCCESS: Brinker was pleased to donate 1,076 cans this year. Thank you to all who donated and those who helped, from Ms. Bibby opening the doors for us to come in to load boxes all the way to our young kindergarten crew lead by Sam.
4TH GRADERS ENJOYED VISIT FROM TEXAS HERO: On December 4, Brinker 4th Graders enjoyed a visit from Texas Hero, "Sam Houston", as portrayed by Jack Edmondson. The students learned about Sam Houston and other interesting Texas facts, as part of the Texas History curriculum that they have been studying this unit. Bringing exciting, curriculum-based programs to Brinker is one of the many ways your contributions to the Brinker PTA are used.
BRINKER BEARS HELP OUT: Thanks to all Brinker families who contibuted to Renner Middle School's "Renner Relief and Recovery" for neighboring cities and communities affected by the devastating storms. RENNER MS 2016-17 BOARDJANUARY 31
Renner Middle School PTA is already planning for the next 2016-17 school year! In February, Nominating Committee members will be elected, and in March the 2016-17 PTA officers will be elected. Once that is complete, the officers will meet in April to slate the remainder of the 2016-17 Board.
As Renner PTA prepares for its new Board, we'd like to hear from elementary school parents who will be at Renner next year and are interested in serving on the board. If you'd like to be considered for a position on the Renner PTA board in 2016-17, please submit a Renner PTA Board Interest Form by January 31.
The form is posted online in Renner’s Membership Toolkit (MTK). If you don’t already have an account, please create an account to login. Once you sign in to MTK, the “Renner PTA Board Interest Form” page allows you to state your interest in serving on the board and to mark the position(s) in which you are interested. (Make sure to click “Continue” at the bottom of the page to submit the form.)
Have you completed your Volunteer Application for the 2015-16 school year? PISD requires all volunteers to complete this application EVERY school year. We encourage ALL parents to complete and submit an application for security clearance - if you are one of our volunteers or just planning to attend a classroom party. Please visit the PISD Volunteer Application page to access the online application - it takes about 5 minutes to complete.

Thanks for volunteering!
JOIN THE PTA
Please join us as a member of the PTA for the 2015-2016 school year. By joining for the first time or renewing your membership each year, the PTA is able to provide student programs to help make every child's potential a reality. We encourage all parents, grandparents, staff, and community members to join the Brinker PTA. PTA Membership does NOT require volunteering or any kind of time commitment. We only ask that you help support the programs and events that we provide for ALL students, ALL staff and ALL families throughout our community. Our goal is 100% participation. Only Members of the PTA will receive a Student Directory.
We have lots of openings for the fall library volunteer schedule. Volunteer timeslots cover 1-2 classes, and you would be helping to check-in/check-out and shelve books. It’s a great way to see your child at school!
You can sign up on PTA Toolkit – just look for the 2015-2016 Library Volunteer form. For any questions, please e-mail Heather Burchett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
