"No winter lasts forever; no springs skips its turn" - Hal Barland
Spring cannot arrive quickly enough for me . These last few crazy winter days with snow and ice are making me long for sunshine and flip flops. Spring Break is almost here, March 9-13, and I know everyone is looking forward to a week off to relax with family and friends.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Family Book Fair night and the PTA General meeting. Our next General Membership Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24, when we will be recognizing several student achievements. In addition, we will be electing our new officers for next year's PTA. Have a wonderful spring break!

ATTENTION 5TH GRADE PARENTS - WE NEED PICTURES
One of the most memorable items from your child's time at Brinker will be the photo DVD that is shown at the 5th Grade Recognition Ceremony. We need to collect photos from EVERY child's family. Each family should provide a baby photo, current photo and 2-3 group photos with Brinker friends from their Kindergarten through 5th grade years. Photos will be collected through the end of March, preferably in digital format and should be emailed to your homeroom representative. Thank you for your participation!
We are so excited to have some wonderful environmental projects going on at Brinker!! We just completed our project to collect and reuse items for a pet shelter. The items are to be donated to Lil Cuties Pet Rescue. If you are looking for a new family member, this is a great place to find one, as well as all the other wonderful animal shelters and rescues in our area.
Other projects we are working on include discussions and planning for a garden on campus. If you have knowledge in this area or can donate supplies or volunteer time, we would love to have your help. It will be a rather large project that will take lots of effort. We are also working on getting a collection bin to recycle clothes that will also raise funds for our campus. The bin will be placed in the parking lot of the school to collect clothes and shoes. Brinker will receive money by the pound of clothing donated in this bin. The newest project the environmental team has coming up is Brinker’s first Recycled Art contest. This contest will take place during the month of April. Be on the lookout for more details to come!
If you have any questions, ideas, or would like to help, please feel free to contact Jennifer or Nanditha at email@example.com.
Cultural Diversity Day
The PTA was proud to sponsor Brinker's Cultural Diversity Day on February 6! Brinker teachers and students kicked off the fun by parading through the halls of Brinker in different cultural attire. Students then experienced various cultures and traditions with hands-on activities like the Indian Dandiya dance, chopsticks games, Chinese paper lantern crafts, Japanese origami, Henna tattoos, and name translations. It was a ton of fun! Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who helped make this event a success!
Friendship is in the air! During the week of Valentine's Day, students celebrated their friendship with other Brinker Bears.
Regional Science Fair Winners
Both of Brinker's grand prize Science Fair winners went on to win awards at the Regional Science Fair. The Brinker community congratulates JD Grizzle who won 3rd place in the 3rd grade physical science category and Satvik Mahendra who won 2nd place in the 4th grade life science category. You make Brinker proud!
